Thông tin sách: Eros: A Journey of Multiple Loves (Paperback, 223 trang) – Routledge, 2006. Ngôn ngữ: Tiếng Anh.
Eros: A Journey of Multiple Loves is a poignant memoir that explores the evolution of erotic love through the international and transcultural journeys of an extraordinary woman. This captivating book chronicles the life of polyamorous advocate and postmodern nomad Serena Anderlini-D'Onofrio, whose skillful prose takes readers along the bold twists and turns of her life, and her irreverent critiques of society, education, and sexuality.
In Eros, Anderlini-D'Onofrio describes her formative years in the politically charged Italy of the 1960s and 1970 as well as her development as an independent woman and single mother in America. From her educational beginnings to her love of nudity and freedom from bodily inhibitions, the author reveals her innermost thoughts and shares the wisdom life has blessed her with. She candidly narrates both her journey over the treacherous path from graduate student to educator in California, and from a straight and monogamous young adulthood to an alternative and fulfilling lifestyle.
An extraordinary read for those who want to expand their horizons, Eros is an engaging and honest testimony of a passage into unconventional realms of growth, self-discovery, the erotic, and the many possibilities for love. Follow the emergence of this exceptional woman who's made a career of defying convention for the sake of integrity--a woman well worth getting to know!
Editorial Reviews From the Back Cover "FASCINATING. . . . Anderlini-D'onofrio's writing style is exquisite. . . . A realistic account of the life of a bisexual woman, with its trials and tribulations, as well as its pleasures. It will help all people deal with their own sexual orientations and love styles. Both of us agree that ONCE WE BEGAN READING THIS BOOK, WE WERE UNABLE TO PUT IT DOWN."-- Late Fritz Klein, MD, Editor of the Journal of Bisexuality, and Regina Reinhardt, PhD, Psychotherapist
"CAPTIVATING, BOLD, TITILLATING, SAUCY, YET EARNESTLY NUANCED. . . . the pseudonymous 'Gaia' of this absorbing cross-cultural, cross-sexual memoir is a twentieth-century Moll Flanders, reborn as an x-rated intellectual. Her vividly told, politically engaged tale of loves lost and found (often in surprising places) explores new moral ground in redefining our identities as sexual creatures, as minds inhabiting polymorphously erotic bodies, ever in quest of a sacred fullness of being."
-- Flavia Alaya, PhD, Author of Under the Rose: A Confession
"POWERFUL. . . . These are journeys that cross and connect cultures, sexualities, genders, religions, and geographies. These are also a woman's journeys that traverse the terrains and tensions of motherhood and singledom, monogamy and polyamory, religious dogma and spirituality, monosexuality and bisexuality, family and community. And always, the buoyant, joyous, and resilient spirit of the author keeps the reader journeying with her."
-- Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli, PhD, Senior Lecturer, School of Health and Social Development, Deakin University
"A BRILLIANT COMBINATION of transcultural experience, political and theoretical insights, commentary on academia, and a mother's preoccupations, all of which is interspersed with lots of juicy Eros. I LOVED IT!!"
-- Suzann Robins, CHT, MA, Holistic Educator and Activist; Faculty at Bloomfield and Caldwell Colleges, New Jersey
