Of course the authors' reputation is a good enough reason to want it but the impressive list of contributors can only reinforce my first impression: there is a lot of work and good science in its 996 pages. In fact, serious general practitioners and specialists alike will find all they need to know about the GI tract...The excellent authors finally put to bed myths such as 'nil per mouth' in the case of acute pancreatitis.
