Gulliver’s Travels 5 is a novel by Jonathan Swift, that satirizes the politics, culture, and science of his time, as well as human nature in general. The novel consists of four voyages of Lemuel Gulliver, a ship’s surgeon, who visits various remote regions of the world, where he encounters different races of people and animals, such as the tiny Lilliputians, the giant Brobdingnagians, the flying Laputans, and the rational Houyhnhnms. The novel mocks the pretensions and follies of mankind, and challenges the reader to examine his or her own values and assumptions.
